Free Art Print – Isaiah 43

I’ve been writing about bravery since I recently launched my first children’s book (get it HERE while it’s on sale!). The title itself testifies to courage, but the very act of getting the story into printed form was a step away from fear. So it’s no surprise that I’ve been dwelling on a scripture like Isaiah 43. The Bible is chockfull of acts of faith that make us brave. In fact, the command “do not fear” occurs in the Bible 365 times. A verse for every day of the year.

I’m so wonderfully human though, and I forget such truth constantly. I  have to be reminded of it all the time. So today I’m sharing a free art print featuring a favorite verse of mine regarding fear and bravery. To get your own, simply click here for an 8×10 printable version. I hope you enjoy! And if you do print it, please tag me in a photo. I’d love to see how you use it!

Free May Lock Screen and Verse!

Free May Lock Screen and Verse | Faith and Composition

It’s nearly May, and I can hardly believe that the summer season is upon us. Soon enough, schools will be celebrating their last days, sun will fall warm on the skin, afternoons will be spent at the pool, and evenings will boast twilights that stretch long. I am looking forward to both a slower pace and the return of consistent sun-drenched days.

And so to celebrate the start of May, the upcoming Mother’s Day holiday, and the beginning of the summer season, I’ve designed a pretty lock screen for your phone. The image features soft, pastel peach blossoms, topped with a verse from Proverbs to encourage your feminine heart.

To set the image as your own lock screen, download the file here(Image is optimized for iPhone, but I bet it will work with other phones as well!) Then simply save it to your phone’s camera roll. When setting the image as your wallpaper, you’ll need to turn “perspective zoom” off, then pinch the picture to scale it down to fit the frame. I hope that makes sense. Enjoy!

O Come Let Us Adore Him, FREE iPhone Wallpaper

FREE O Come Let Us Adore HIm iPhone wallpaper | Faith and Composition

Christmas is nearly upon us, and I can hardly believe it. There’s still so much I have to do … remaining presents to buy, still more to wrap, cookies to bake, and meals to plan. And yet, in the hustle and bustle of these last few days before THE day, I really just want to slow down and savor HIM.

So come with me, take a deep breath, and still your heart for a minute. Rest in the incredible miracle that this season celebrates: the awaited birth of our Savior. He was born so that He might die for you and for me … my soul can’t begin to contain such hope, such grace, such beauty!

FREE O Come Let Us Adore HIm iPhone wallpaper | Faith and Composition

Let’s turn away from the chaos, if only for a moment, and choose to simply adore Him. If you’d like this reminder at your fingertips, I’ve created an iPhone lock screen and wallpaper to celebrate the season. You can download your own image here. (Image is optimized for iPhone, but I bet it will work with other phones as well!) Simply download the image, and then save it to your phone’s camera roll. When setting the image as your wallpaper, you’ll need to turn “perspective zoom” off, then pinch the picture to scale it down to fit the frame. (Also, if you’ve yet to start an Advent reading, consider jumping into the SheReadsTruth Advent plan. Because although it may be mid-December, it’s never too late to let the word of truth penetrate your heart. I promise, it will bless your spirit! The girls over at SRT can really speak the word!)

October Love | Free Printable

October love

I don’t know about you, but I’m pretty smitten with the fall season. Unfortunately, fall isn’t as smitten with Texas. So in an effort to usher in a little bit of the autumn spirit and in honor of the first day in October, I made this sweet, simple printable to remind me that—despite the 90-degree temps outside—it is indeed the season of pumpkins and spiced cider. And because I adore each of you for reading, I’m sharing the print with you too. If you want to bring a bit of the season inside, or you simply want something to pretty up your space, print your own October love 8×10 right here.

Thanks for reading, dear friends! And happy October!

A Bit of Encouragement + Free iPhone Wallpaper

Encouraging Quotes and Free iPhone Wallpaper | Faith and Composition

There a few quotes on parenting that have really encouraged me in the past few months. The words of Charles Spurgeon have buoyed my heart no less than several times. He said:

“You are as much serving God in looking after your own children, and training them up in God’s fear, and minding the house, and making your household a church for God, as you would be if you had been called to lead an army to battle for the Lord of hosts.”

And then there’s this quote by Andy Stanley, who said: Your greatest contribution to the kingdom of God may not be something you do but someone you raise.”

I first read those words when I was crafting this post, and they’ve stuck with me. They echo around in my head and remind me that this work of raising little ones has eternal significance. Yes, there are the day-in-day-out tasks of feeding hungry tummies, changing diapers, wiping tears, directing play and picking up messes, but there is also the immense privilege of shepherding their hearts. Truth  be told, it’s something I often fail at and sometimes succeed at, but the good news of the Gospel is that His mercies are new every morning. Thus, even in my failures, I can wake with new mercies. The dawning of each day is a new opportunity to love on my children in a way that reflects Christ, even if I failed to do it the previous day. Even if I failed miserably. Because God is a God of redemption, I can receive that redemption and pour out grace to my children. Not because I’m perfect, far from it, but because I’m the recipient of abundant grace.

To remind myself of this good news and the privilege of this role as a mom, I created an iPhone wallpaper featuring Andy Stanley’s quote. There are three versions available: Gold, Coral and Gray. The jpeg is optimized for iPhone 5, but it should work on other versions, and I assume it will work with other phones as well.
