Free Art Print – Isaiah 43

I’ve been writing about bravery since I recently launched my first children’s book (get it HERE while it’s on sale!). The title itself testifies to courage, but the very act of getting the story into printed form was a step away from fear. So it’s no surprise that I’ve been dwelling on a scripture like Isaiah 43. The Bible is chockfull of acts of faith that make us brave. In fact, the command “do not fear” occurs in the Bible 365 times. A verse for every day of the year.

I’m so wonderfully human though, and I forget such truth constantly. I  have to be reminded of it all the time. So today I’m sharing a free art print featuring a favorite verse of mine regarding fear and bravery. To get your own, simply click here for an 8×10 printable version. I hope you enjoy! And if you do print it, please tag me in a photo. I’d love to see how you use it!

FREE Beautifully Brave Mother’s Day Printable!

Beautifully Brave, FREE Tribute to Moms Printable | Faith and Composition

Today I am so excited to share that I have teamed up with my lovely friend, Teresa of Hugs & Punches to bring you a darling FREE printable inspired by Wednesday’s post:

Beautifully Brave – A Tribute to Moms (be sure to hop over and read it; it will encourage your heart!).

(The links to download are at the bottom of the post.)

When I originally wrote the post, I wanted it to be larger than just this blog. I wanted the words to reach as many readers as possible. So I reached out to my precious friend, Teresa, and we were excited to collaborate. She designed this beautiful printable to feature some of the words, and I am so glad she brought her talent to this work! Because as you can see from the printable and the styling of the images, Teresa sees abundant beauty in the midst of the everyday.

In addition to bringing you this art print and card, I also wanted to highlight a few women who are living examples of #BeautifullyBrave motherhood. And in honor of Mother’s Day, won’t you do the same? Recognize a few Beautifully Brave moms in your own life (your sister, mom, best friend, neighbor) and encourage them by sharing to the #BeautifullyBrave hashtag. Because we all long for a little recognition in this incredible motherhood journey!

Be Still and Know

Be still, words to encourage your heart and a free printable | Faith and Composition

I feel it creeping up, the familiar strangling sensation of anxiety: the tightness in the chest, the heart palpitations, the loud thoughts echoing in my head. News of another patient to be diagnosed with Ebola in the U.S. broke today … and it’s in my own backyard again. I‘m one or two degrees separated from this terrible disease, and that reality is absolutely terrifying.

Despite the attempts to assure the public that an outbreak in this country is rare, today’s news is enough to make me want to take my family and retreat into some rural hideaway. Except that’s not a feasible option, and there is nowhere truly “safe” this side of heaven.

So I wander the house, trying to busy my head and occupy my hands with some other task to take my mind off the news and it’s closeness to home. And then softly He whispers into the midst of my pounding, anxious heart:

Be still.

Just be still and know that He is God.

So I set it aside—the busyness, the what-ifs, the menial tasks—and I sit still before Him. I don’t ask, I don’t tell; I just wait. I wait for my heart to remember that He is God, and He is still on His throne in all of His sovereign glory.

He is God. And that is enough.

Today, if you’re suffering from fear, anxiety, unrest, uncertainty … stop what you’re doing and simply be still. Let your heart cry out to the Lord in utterances of which the mouth cannot speak. Look up and know that He is God. And then God will do the rest. He will flood your heart with a peace that passes understanding because He.is.God. Today, tomorrow, always.

October Love | Free Printable

October love

I don’t know about you, but I’m pretty smitten with the fall season. Unfortunately, fall isn’t as smitten with Texas. So in an effort to usher in a little bit of the autumn spirit and in honor of the first day in October, I made this sweet, simple printable to remind me that—despite the 90-degree temps outside—it is indeed the season of pumpkins and spiced cider. And because I adore each of you for reading, I’m sharing the print with you too. If you want to bring a bit of the season inside, or you simply want something to pretty up your space, print your own October love 8×10 right here.

Thanks for reading, dear friends! And happy October!

Let Freedom Ring: FREE Fourth of July Art Print + iPhone Wallpaper

Stunning, FREE Fourth of July printable and iPhone wallpaper | Faith and Composition

Today marks 238 years since Congress voted to approve separation from Great Britain. Just two days after that vote, on July 4, 1776, John Hancock and Charles Thompson signed an early draft of the Declaration of Independence. Four days later, atop the steps of Independence Hall, members of Congress read that document to the people of Philadelphia. They then rang the Liberty Bell, which bore an inscription from Leviticus: (source)

Leviticus 25:10
This Friday, people all across the United States will gather to remember that historical day and commemorate its significance. It’s a holiday I hold dear, for it evokes such a sense of unity and patriotic pride.

In preparation for the day, I wanted to create a little something to celebrate. So the above art print … it’s for you! And honestly friends, I am ecstatic at the way this turned out! I hope you’ll relish it as much as I adore it!

I’ve created two versions of the print. One is a high-resolution 8×10 that can be printed on cardstock or photo paper and framed for your Fourth of July celebration or to add a bit of Americana to any room. The other file is specifically scaled to be used as iPhone wallpaper. When setting the image as your wallpaper, you’ll need to turn “perspective zoom” off, then pinch the picture to scale it down to fit the frame. Make sense?

Click here for the 8×10 print.

I hope you enjoy! And if you do choose to use the print for your celebrations, or if you happen to display it in your home, I’d love to see it! Snap a pic, share it on Instagram and tag me (@faithandcomposition). It would make my heart so happy to see the print used in your space!

Blessings to you, dear friends! Let freedom ring indeed!
