It’s been a bit quiet here throughout the past couple weeks, and for good reason. The summer days with flexible agendas have been replaced by routine, schedule and a new school experience that still has us adjusting. I’ll be dedicating a more-detailed post or two about our educational choice in the near future, but in short, we’ve chosen a method that combines traditional classroom teaching with homeschooling. In our particular program, we’re homeschooling three days a week. As we’ve been settling into our new schedule and adjusting to the added demands on my time at home, my posting here has been a bit less frequent. I’m hoping to return to regular posts soon!
In the meantime, I wanted to pop in share a few sweet peeks from a darling newborn session. My brother and sister-in-law recently welcomed their first child, and when they asked if I would be willing to photograph the precious little guy, I jumped at the chance. Here are a few of my favorites from the session. I hope you enjoy glancing through the images! And if you have any questions about our educational choice mentioned above, feel free to ask in the comments section, and I’ll do my best to answer!
Please feel free to share or Pin any images, just kindly provide a link back to this original post.

It’s the start of the Christmas season, and my head is swimming with ideas and posts to share here … a gift guide, some of my favorite seasonal DIYs, whole-food holiday treats, and more. I have a list that’s seemingly a mile long filled with good intentions for this little space.
And yet, the reality is that I have been up to my ears with photo editing. I am still so pleasantly surprised at the friends-turned-clients who have trusted me to archive their memories! Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, to all of you who have taken a chance on me! Couple that with the demands of a busy household that includes three children five and under, and I’ve been non-stop busy. But it’s a good busy! And as the warm December sun shone down on me this morning (yes, it was warm today!), my heart was literally bursting with gratitude.
So all that to say … I’m hoping to work on a few of those aforementioned ideas for this little space during this week, but until then, here’s a glimpse at some of the photos I’ve been snapping. These were from a few of my recent mini sessions. Each family was such fun, and the weather cooperated beautifully! Also, if you’d like to follow along with some of my day-to-day snapshots, be sure to join me over on Instagram.
Whew, it’s been a bit quiet over here! The mister was out of town for a few days last week, and my mom came down from Missouri to share some time with us and help out while the hubbie was away. And while she’s here, well, we play … a lot! Needless to say, there weren’t many moments spent composing blog posts.
But the air was crisp, flag football was played, we walked a bit of our new land (we’re going to be building soon!), soup simmered away on the stove, and on Sunday we went on a lakeside hike. It really was lovely. Here are a few glimpses of our hike through the lens of my iPhone (all images captured with myiPhone 5). If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen a few of these. And speaking of Instagram, I’m currently taking part in Embrace the Camera, a challenge to get out from behind the lens and in front of the camera. If you’re an Instagrammer, join me. It’s been a lot of fun!
How was your weekend, dear friends? I hope it was blessed! I’ll be back in a few days with some fun content. I look forward to seeing you here again soon!
